A new name in Aluminium Building Systems

Monday, 6th May 2013 at 9:45am

AluK LogoThe Think Tank has been working with global aluminium building products group, AluK, to bring the brand to the UK following the purchase of Blyweert Beaufort.

Through the development of the brand identity in the UK and an integrated marketing strategy the introduction of the new brand has been a great success.

Over the past few months The Think Tank developed a range of collateral and marketing tools for AluK, ready for the launch in April 2013. This included a sophisticated web site that engages target audiences and provides them with the information they require to specify and purchase AluK products. This is already delivering results through lead generation.
AluK Brochure
The Think Tank organised a launch event for customers and the press at the beginning of April and has introduced the brand through a combination of PR, Advertising, eDM and Social Media, building brand awareness and encouraging enquiry. This has seen immediate results for AluK and has started to develop a new positioning for the group that offers a complete range of aluminium windows, doors and curtain walling systems.

We are continuing to develop the marketing strategy for the group and to raise awareness of the brand through a variety of marketing channels. This include engagement and support for existing customers as well as the launch of a wide range of new products over the coming months.

Two new interiors shows to open in London in 2013

Sunday, 15th April 2012 at 8:45am

DXTwo new interior design trade fairs are set to open their doors in London next year.

In a brave move in a market that has seen the demise of several shows, including Design Prima, in recent years Office Interiors at Earls Court and DX, at Excel, will avoid the September Interiors scrum focussing on the beginning of the year.

Office Interiors is organised by Diversified Business Communications and will be held on 13th and 14th February. The organisers present the show as a 'vibrant, fresh and exciting new event dedicated to the UK's office interior industry'.

Office InteriorsDX is organised by UBM and launched by Ian Rudge, co-founder of the 100% Design and Tent shows, in collaboration with graphic designer Neville Brody and architect Ad Rogers. The show will focus on the relationship between design and technology and will be at Excel on 19th and 21st May 2013.

The Kraken - Myth or Reality

Sunday, 25th March 2012 at 9:39am

AttachmentWe recently found this great brand work for Kraken Rum by Brooklyn based agency 'Dead As We Know It'.

The campaign launches what was apparently the world's first spiced black rum. The agency developed the backstory of the Kraken’s true existence from a scientific point of view through a journal and a series of movies which brings the brand to life in an interesting way.

There is a series of animated videos for the brand which you can find here. We have added Chapter 3 of the series below which we thought was great fun.

Well done on a very engaging launch campaign.

Tesco launch augmented reality programme

Thursday, 17th November 2011 at 10:00am

Tesco AR.PNGBritish retailer Tesco is launching an ambitious augmented reality programme today that will let consumers see 3D images of more than 40 products online.

The technology requires a browser plugin then, after that consumers have to use a “marker” like a Tesco catalog or club card to active the augmented reality (AR). Users can then hold up images from the catalogue to their computer’s webcam to see a floating 3D version of the product.

For instance, an image of a TV set in the catalogue can be expanded onscreen so you can see its actual size and what it looks like on the back. The AR also lets you play with onscreen LEGO sets. Tesco worked with British tech firm Kishino on the project.

Tesco’s foray into AR comes as the technology recently made some serious inroads in the U.S. In one of the most high-profile AR pushes yet, Starbucks launched a Christmas programme this month that uses an iOS-based app to make its red holiday coffee cups project images of animated characters.

Mini poster sites for a mini series

Thursday, 27th October 2011 at 8:52am

7 Dwarves 1.jpgTo promote Channel 4's new series 'Seven Dwarves' twenty miniature billboards were placed in various locations around London. Complete with working lights each was a perfect scale model of a 48-sheet poster site.

The sites announced the launch of the new series however they appear to have been very popular as all 'disappeared' very quickly, but what a great idea!

The Think Tank wins Best Launch Campaign at B2B Marketing Awards 2010 for OKI Printing Solutions

Friday, 26th November 2010 at 9:39am

a OKI_860_Intergrated small.jpgAt a fantastic night of mobsters and 1960's gangsters, The Think Tank secured the Best Product Launch Award at the B2B Marketing Awards 2010 for its EMEA launch campaign for the OKI MC860 multifunction printer.

Communicating the benefits of A3 colour printing at a price comparable to other A4 products, the campaign featured visuals demonstrating that you see the bigger picture with an A3 printer. This media neutral idea was used across the marketing material, both on and off line, and then executed by operating companies across the EMEA region to great effect.

This was one of the first campaigns that The Think Tank had developed for OKI Printing Solutions since winning the EMEA creative account in a competitive pitch.

Liam Bateman, Director at The Think Tank, commented, 'This is great news and testament to the hard work of both the OKI EMEA Marketing Team and my team at The Think Tank. Well done to all.'

The Think Tank was also shortlisted in the B2B Marketing Awards 2010 for its promotional work with AkzoNobel in the Most Commercially Successful award category.
