'Moments of Warmth'

Tuesday, 18th March 2014 at 4:47pm

Duracell has launched a new campaign encouraging Canadians to keep warm in the harsh winter – by holding hands in a special interactive bus shelter.

The bus shelter, which loosely resembles a Duracell battery, has heaters that only turn on once its occupants complete a ‘circuit’.

They do this by holding hands and pressing on the positive and negative signs on either end of the shelter.

Duracell filmed the campaign, which it entitled ‘Moments of Warmth’, with the help of creative agency Cossette.

You can watch the advert below, and tell us if you would take part in a 'Moment of Warmth'.

Monday, 14th October 2013 at 8:11pm

Gary Glitter Ad 1988Digging through some archive files at the weekend I came across some classic old magazines including The Face 100th Issue from 1988.

Packed full of great photography and a list of 100 inventions from the 80's it was an interesting read until I came across this advert for the Young Persons Railcard.

How times change!

Jackie Chiles sues the bears!

Wednesday, 28th August 2013 at 11:40am

Sue the bearsSeinfeld’s Jackie Chiles sues the bears in a new Jim Beam campaign promoting its new honey-flavoured whiskey.

In the video Chiles receives a call from Jim Beam, who tells him about the new flavour but also shares his concern that bears could steal all the honey. To save the honey (whiskey) Jackie Chiles must act.

This clever and funny advertisement created by Edelman presents a serious case using humour. It aims to raise awareness of the plight of the honey bees with a totally absurd story and with an even more absurd lawyer.

Coca-Cola has taken steps to shift their unhealthy public image by using this new advert that promotes movement and healthy living.

Entitled 'Happiness Is Movement' the advert follows wooden puppets expressing the freedom and joy they derive from movement.

This animation coupled with its catchy jingle are certainly a light-hearted and effective way to promote a more active lifestyle, however it's still unclear whether Coca-Cola's drinks can figure into this healthy living.

Nissan Self Healing PaintIn a clever marketing campaign Nissan has released a special advert for those that read the news on their tablets. The ad itself is for their 'self healing' paint, which recovers from light scratches to look as good as new.

The advert, created by TBWA/G1 Paris, creates scratches in the paintwork of the car as users try to swipe through the ad, which then repair themselves.

Very clever use of the swipe motion that people use whilst browsing to highlight another innovation.

Toyota's Family Tree

Tuesday, 5th March 2013 at 9:32am

Toyota vehicle LineageToyota vehicle lineageToyota vehicle lineageTo celebrate 75 years, Toyota has released a family tree for their cars.
The interactive map allows you to go through the entire range of cars they have made since the company was established in 1937 and it's plant operation began in 1938 (the first cars were released in 1936).

The timeline covers the lives of different cars they have developed and allows you to search through it based upon year, body type or model.

The spots on the tree have pop-up images of the vehicles, which are click-able, and allow you to look through the different generations of a model of car like the Land Cruiser or Avensis.

Their 75 Years of Toyota landing page also has a clever scrolling timeline which focuses on the company and it's growth over this period.

VW ad is daylight robbery

Tuesday, 19th February 2013 at 1:00pm

Volkswagon MaskVolkswagon MaskVolkswagen's latest advert by Deutsch, is a brilliant bit of suspense, slightly reminiscent of an action movie but with a humorous twist at the end.

The premise for the ad, titled Mask, is simple; a guy walks into a local shop wearing a ski mask, starts stalking down the aisles collecting food and such like, whilst looking menacing. All the while the customers start to hide and the counter staff begin to look scared. The camera angles and accompanying music all add to the suspense and creates a commercial that seems to promise cars chases and gun fights.

Hopefully we have built this up enough without spoiling the end, so take a look at it below.
