A stunning article by MyModernMet explores what contemporary art means.

As the article puts it, contemporary art can take any form of artistic expression which is produced 'today', from sculpture and painting to photography and video.

Using the 1960s as its starting point, MyModernMet takes a look back at some of the key artistic movements that can be defined as contemporary art,  including pop art, photorealism, conceptualism, and minimalism.

Some striking examples are used along the way, including Andy Warhol's Campbell’s Soup Cans’, Dale Chihuly's work, and incredible Earth Art, which makes landscapes into installations.

It’s fair to say that the range of contemporary art which is now produced is extremely diverse - explore it for yourself here and let us know what you think of it. What's your favourite type of contemporary art?
