It’s not often that a Nordic clean-energy company comes up with an idea that we insist must absolutely be implemented in the UK immediately without delay.

Taxi journeys paid with passenger singing.

Fortnum, which runs a charging network throughout the Nordic countries, offered free trips at Ruisrock festival in Finland last weekend. The trips were provided in a BMW i3 car.

To show off the electric automobile’s silent ride, the energy company came up with the initiative of ferrying festivalgoers around Turku national park for free if they sang to the driver. An in-car karaoke tablet provided a menu of songs and their lyrics.
