Liam is a founding Director of The Think Tank and has worked in marketing for more than 25 years. Starting his career as an Account Executive in one of the UK’s leading Sales Promotion Agencies, Liam has worked in above-the-line and research agencies before setting up The Think Tank with his business partner, Shaun Madle, in 1993.
Gaining a wide range of experience across many marketing disciplines, Liam has worked with a variety of leading brands including Kodak, British Midland, WorldPay, Hertz, Woolworths, Kwik Save, Castlemaine XXXX, Formica, OKI Printing Solutions, Nespresso, Asendia and AkzoNobel.
Liam heads up the Client Services team at The Think Tank delivering the strategic direction for our clients and managing the development of existing and new business.

Shaun Madle founded The Think Tank in 1993 with Liam Bateman and is the Creative Director of the agency. He began his career as a designer/typographer and went on to lead creative teams in several large London advertising agencies. He has worked in the creative industry for almost 35 years, across a diverse range of sectors.
Previous clients have included the Orient Express, DAKS, Russell & Bromley, Perpetual Unit Trusts, Alitalia Airways, Data General, Alderwick Peachell, Simpsons of Piccadilly and Robert Walters.
Leading the Think Tank’s creative team, Shaun has a hands-on role shaping and developing campaigns across a range of media, and relishes a challenge.

Dragana is an Account Director at The Think Tank, witnessing many Christmas parties along the way.
Her skills and knowledge are rooted in business to business communications and she has extensive experience in delivering complex integrated marketing campaigns. Supporting the marketing needs of a wide range of clients, Dragana has planned and implemented many online and offline strategies both in the UK and across the EMEA region.
Jana joined The Think Tank to work on the Formica Group account and help develop relationship with the Russian press. She now leads the PR team, overseeing activity for various clients across 15 European countries, Middle East and Australia, focusing on the architecture & design and construction & build sectors.
Jana is responsible for creating stakeholder communications programmes, media relations campaigns, and new product and service launches for clients. She received a bachelor’s degree in Language and Culture from the University College London (UCL), majoring in Russian.
PR Account Director
With a MediaLab Arts BSc, Paul is responsible for growing the digital side of the business. He initially designed and developed Flash websites and CD-ROMs in the early years, before becoming the Digital Director and overseeing all the digital projects The Think Tank produces from Parallax websites to After Effects Video Production.
Paul has two beautiful young children so his spare time is mostly consumed by them. However if he does get a minute to himself, he loves to play football (well) and golf (badly).
Karen brings over 10 years' experience as an ideas led, award-winning creative in Art Direction and Graphic Design.
From concept to creation, Karen has worked on fully integrated ad campaigns, photo shoots (in both Art Director and photographer roles), branding and identities, direct marketing, branding communications and corporate literature, digital online ads, film editing for TV ads and short films, and direction of VOs and sound dubs.
Previous clients include Ford Direct, Citi Bank, BBC Motion Gallery, MSN and Hewlett Packard to name but a few.
A creative graphic designer, Lee’s responsibilities include client pitches, concept generation from initial ideas through to final solutions and art-working for both print and online. Lee has over 10 years design industry experience with a BA(Hons) in Graphic Design and Marketing.
Outside of work, Lee's interests include design, art and photography, and he has diverse freelance clientele.
Sarah is an experienced account handler with a passion for creating strategies that go beyond the initial brief to deliver something truly unique for brands and their customers. Sarah works across a range of clients at The Think Tank and enjoys using innovative marketing solutions to meet her clients’ needs.
With experience in the luxury, B2B, and publishing sectors, Sarah adores the variety that this brings to her role. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys baking and is a part of SheSays, a group that runs events and talks for women in the creative and marketing industry.
Over the past twenty years, Richard has delivered projects for an impressive range of blue-chip clients that include BT, DTI, Honda, Japan Airlines, JNTO, and Suzuki. Richard’s experience ensures he is the perfect conduit between client and business.
Outside of business, Richard’s passions are photography, travelling to Kenya, and his property management business. He is the first to admit at being slow on an office tea round!
As a PR Account Manager, Yasmina’s day-to-day work is very fast paced and diverse, managing national and international PR campaigns across several industries, including architecture, interior design, and hospitality.
Before joining The Think Tank, Yasmina worked for a marketing company in the Food & Drink industry. She has a degree in Communications & Media Studies and started out as a journalist back home in Switzerland – the country of watches, mountains, and chocolate.
PR Account Manager
Magda is responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the Clerkenwell office. Her main responsibilities within The Think Tank cover basic HR and financial management functions, including invoicing, supplier controlling and space and facilities management, along with providing administrative leadership to the Directors.
She has more than 15 years of professional experience in administration with an emphasis on sales support, finance, and facility management.
In the past Magda has studied Accountancy and Financial Advisory, and has a Master’s Degree in Marketing and Management from Koszalin University of Technology.
Office Manager and Finance
Andy enjoys the challenge of fresh creative ideas, ensuring that they meet the practical considerations and unique requirements of each project he works on.
He has worked for some prestigious clients, including Marks & Spencer, The Economist, Aston Martin, Vodafone, and Hogarth Worldwide, on a freelance and agency basis, translating their briefs into imaginative design.
Andy spends his free time playing tennis and collecting vinyl, and he is also interested in vintage motorbikes.
Stephen is a Junior Digital Designer, specialising in digital design and video creation.
Bringing a host of other skills to The Think Tank, including graphic design and artworking, Stephen also has a BSc in Multimedia Computing and Animation.
Outside of work, Stephen is a football fan and enjoys video games and live music - he can also be found at the pool table.
Junior Digital Designer
Katharina is a PR Senior Account Executive at The Think Tank and has excellent media relations skills and knowledge, especially in the B2B arena. She spent four years studying International Communication Management at the University Inholland, Amsterdam/Diemen before deciding to pursue a career in Public Relations.
Katharina’s previous experience includes interning at a boutique beauty, fashion and lifestyle PR agency, while studying for a PR certificate at the Chartered Institute for Public Relations (CIPR), and as a Consultant working on four major accounts ranging from manufacturers in the packaging industry to product inspection, automotive and printing manufacturers.
PR Senior Account Executive
Eric works with a range of B2B clients in construction, building and facilities management, and IT services. He enjoys the challenges of his role and his new life in London, and despite coming from well renowned tea regions in Kenya and Yorkshire, he is not a big fan of the hot drink.
He studied at Leeds Metropolitan University where he attained both his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Eric is also a keen sports fan, who enjoys playing and watching football, American football, tennis, rugby league, and rugby union.
PR Senior Account Executive
Chris has over 5 years of PR and Comms experience in the B2B and B2C sectors.
Before joining The Think Tank, his previous roles included: working as a journalist for a financial news group, being an account executive for a PR firm specialising in alternative assets, and planning and executing the PR and marketing strategies for a luxury brand where he operated in-house.
This experience has enabled him to exercise and hone his copywriting skills, research ability and capacity to gain industry insight into a broad variety of sectors, ranging from construction and finance to interiors and leisure.
He has strong opinions on ‘Tube etiquette’ and claims to throw a mean Aerobie. He also enjoys writing about himself in the third person.
PR Account Executive
Specialising in content marketing, Laura brings a lifelong love of writing and deep understanding of social media to the account management team.
Her responsibilities include copywriting for a wide range of online and offline media and creating and implementing content marketing strategies. Laura has experience in marketing and PR agency-side and in-house across the B2B, B2C, and charity sectors.
Outside of work, Laura is interested in photography and travelling, and is working on her first novel and towards an English MA.
