Branding, website and literature design
Preparing to celebrate its 170th anniversary, joinery and building firm Tavener & Sons approached The Think Tank for a brand refresh.
C. Tavener & Son Ltd. was founded in 1846, passing successfully from father to son for six generations and building a reputation for excellence in joinery, both locally and internationally, with clients ranging from royalty to The Beatles.
Tavener was looking for a modern, updated brand identity that remained in-keeping with its heritage in the run-up to the company’s 170th anniversary. We worked closely with the owners to develop new brand identities for the two sides of the business, Tavener and CT&S Joinery Ltd., which included a photoshoot to capture the firm’s legendary craftsmanship and attention to detail.
The rebrand and striking imagery have been rolled out across all marketing collateral, which includes a new website, a full suite of stationery and a coffee table book. To create a luxurious look for the stationery we used thermographic raised-ink printing, combined with lithographic printing, for that extra finishing touch. The coffee table book featured images shot at their workshops, alongside project images, all bound in a leather-effect paper with gold blocking to invoke a sense of history, quality and luxury.
The new brand identity, website and stationery were unveiled at an exclusive 170th anniversary event, for which we created a screen printed wood veneer invitation in a foil-blocked and debossed presentation box.
Tavener continues to use its decades of experience to complete bespoke and exquisite work in London’s homes and clubs – with a fresh new look.
